Age Game

I participated in one of those survey things on Facebook. Since FB doesn't really have the greatest long-term storage capacity, I thought I'd post it here: Amanda Jones Goodman gave me the age of 16. At age 16, I was Dating: (i didn't date in high school other than to go to girls' choice dances.) One month after turning 16, I went on my first date. His name was Jake, he was a senior, and I was smitten. He treated me kindly. It was a double date for the spring fling. A friend of mine asked my older brother to be her date. I remember we went to a par k to take pictures. And then I don't remember what we did. Pool? Mini golf? I just remember being nervous and so happy Jake was so nice to me. And that having my brother with me was kind of cool. Living: with my parents in Orem Driving: my mom's Tracker (when she let me) Working: I was working at 5 Buck Pizza, which was my first official job. I rolled dough, answered phones, made pizza, and trie...

Have You Ever?

Yep, another survey thing. I don't really have time for super original material right now. But I thought I'd keep the masses happy. Bloglifted from Amanda once again. Kicked someone in the. . . well, you know? Yep. I was five years old at the time. He had gone through the fence the “wrong way” and this simply couldn’t be tolerated. (There was an opening in a fence surrounding the field of my school. The opening had a bar through it and had footprints preserved in cement. One was walking into the field, the other out. The unlucky boy was walking on the “out” side when he should’ve been walking on the “in” side.) Gone on a blind date? Yes, many sadly. Most of my dates consisted of friends setting me up with other friends. Or blind dates with guys I met off the Internet. (Don’t judge me.) Made someone cry? Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the circumstances), yes. Opened your Christmas presents early? Not too early. Maybe a few days early or at a Christmas party or ...

Fill-in-the-blank

I bloglifted this from Amanda. Sorry I haven't been posting more. I've actually had stuff to do at work, and since I'm on the computer all day at work I usually don't get on at home. My ex is . . . a thing of the past. Except for the one I stayed good friends with. Maybe I should . . . try something different. I love . . . my husband and the beauty of the world. I don't understand . . . why people are so mean. I lost my . . . figure. I hope to find it again someday. People would say that I'm . . . quirky and a fun and compassionate friend. (At least I hope they do.) I look forward to . . . each and every second I spend with Austin. Love is . . . the greatest thing in the world (except maybe chocolate). Somewhere, someone is . . . being born. I will always . . . love my family. Forever is . . . something that is actually attainable. I think the current President is . . . an okay guy. I woke up this morning . . . feeling more awake than I have all week. Life is fu...

Book Survey

Book that changed my life (not religious): How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie Book that changed my life (religious, non-scripture): You Are Priceless: The Parable of the Bicycle by Stephen E. Robinson. The funniest book I've ever read: "The Scorecard" by Greg Gutfeld The saddest book I've ever read: A Promise of Forever by Anita Stansfield. I’m sure there are others, but this is all I can think of for now. This book literally had tears running down my cheeks. (I read it years ago.) It’s a story about a man who loses his wife to cancer and finds love again in his (unmarried) sister-in-law. (It’s weird, but it works.) The scariest story: “The Tell-Tale Heart” or other Poe stories Best Textbook I've read: The Non-Designer’s Design Book Worst book I've read: Eragon A book I'm embarrassed to love: The Death & Life of Superman My favorite books (besides ones already listed): The Princess Bride, all of the Harry Pot...

This Is What Happens When I'm Bored at Work

Purplish Name three things that are close to you: Water bottle, twisted-up paperclip, and post-its What is the last book you read? Neverwhere What's your favorite sport? Basketball Do you enjoy sleeping late? Yes, I sure do. What's the weather like right now? Cold and dark Who tells the best jokes? Austin What was the last thing you dreamed about? It took me two hours to get home yesterday. I have never gotten in an accident (unless you count the time I tapped the car in front of me, which I don’t) or gotten pulled over. Do you believe in karma? Sure. What comes arou...

Tagged, again

Don't worry! The rest of the Tracie & Austin Story is still forthcoming. Stay tuned! Just got tagged by Ammon and I must comply. The game is easy. There are only three rules: The rules are posted at the beginning. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment letting them know that they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog for the rules/details Well, I've done this before , but Ammon tagged me. So let's see if I can think of 6 things that I didn't include last time. 1. I'm an excellent speller. I participated in spelling bees from fifth to eighth grade. I took sixth in 5th grade (and I didn't even study!), second in 6th grade (I should've and would've won if it weren't for my nervousness and stage fright), third in 7th, and like fifth in 8th. The sad thing is I never earned a trophy. :( I ...

Depends on how you look at the bed. If you're facing the bed, Austin is on the right side. Who pa...

The Rules: Players start with 8 random facts about themselves. Those who are tagged should post these rules and their 8 random facts. Players should tag a few other people and notify them they have been tagged. Cheryl has tagged me, so here it is: 1. I like to call myself the "walking contradiction." This is because my personality is very contradictory. Case in point: I can't stand my house being messy, but I'm too lazy to pick up on a regular basis. I can let it get dirty to a certain point and then I have to completely sterilize it top to bottom, a process that takes several hours for my 850 square foot apt. I'm also a perfectionist, but I've learned over the years I couldn't handle the stress of being a perfectionist and so now have almost gone to the other extreme. I also love to be extremely organized and I get very upset when things aren't, but at the same time junk piles up around me until again I can't stand it and must organize...
